Welcome
Ansys and Nastran are excellent finite element codes. There just missing some things, and hopefully this site will have a few tools that will fill those gaps.
Below are listed the tools on the site. They are also in the blue blocks at the top of the page.
-
ANSYS.tmbundle
is a bundle for
TextMate
or
E-TextEditor
(the new hotness) that adds snazzy colors and nifty snippets to your otherwise drab APDL programing experience.
-
NASTRAN.tmbundle
is similar to the ANSYS.tmbundle, except for NASTRAN input files
-
_list2sel
converts from an "klist", "llist", "alist" or "vlist" command output and into a seres of coresponding _sel,a,,,# commands
-
psd2ansys
converts a tab, space or comma delimitated table of power spectral density (PSD) values into PSDFREQ and PSDVALS inputs for ansys to use in random vibration analysis
-
db2ansys
Takes a table of numbers representing one third octave center point frequencys and acoustic noise levels and converts it into and PSDFREQ and PSDVAL inputs that ansys can understand.
-
klist2k
Takes text as output by the klist command and turns it into a list of k commands that create keypoints
-
randomDamp
Given a list of frequency and acceleration data from a random vibration test, this calculates the structural damping using the half-point method.
-
deGUI
Removes all the gui screen movement commands from log file output.
-
deNastyTran
When using FeMap to translate from ANSYS to NASTRAN, something don't work quite the way they should. This script fixes some of the mistakes.
-
ce2rbe3
Converts the constraint equations in a .cdb file (CDWRITE,,,DB ; CE,R5.0,NODE...) into Nastran RBE3 elements. See explanation on why you want to do this.
Even though there isn't much here now, check back often as these projects will continue to evolve and new projects will be added.
Incase you care, fea.ansys.com is made possible by
Sinatra
using
Haml
and
Sass
and with moral support from the letter Q.
